A first start-up venture is definitely one of the most daunting tasks out there. You, as a person, are doing something absolutely new, you initially have no idea how to go about it but you’re absolutely sure that you want to. If you think about it, it’s a lot like running your first marathon. The first few months will always the hardest; the uncertainty, the doubt in your own capabilities as to whether you will actually be able to complete such a mammoth task. You won’t see the fruit of your labour for a long time coming. One thing is for sure. You need to stick to what you started or you can never expect to succeed. Running the race itself is another ball game. You will want to quit. You will want to hang your head in shame and doubt. When you think it isn’t going your way and you can’t possibly keep going, you will want to give up. Here’s a tip you might not be expecting. Don’t. It might sound like the most obvious thing in the world but no successful person ever got to where they are now by throwing in the towel. The sooner you realize that truth, the higher the chances of you seeing that finish line. And ask anyone, there are very few things in this world more satisfying than that sight. Being part of a start-up is a part of everyone’s life really. Whether its picking up that instrument you always wanted to learn, or moving to another country for a business opportunity or just for the heck of it; new beginnings are what make up our lives.
